Kansas’ “Value Them Both” amendment was soundly defeated in the state’s August 2nd primary election. Republican and unaffiliated voters were instrumental in defeating the amendment.

More Republicans than Democrats were expected to vote based on statewide registration and a greater number of contested Republican primaries. Support for the pro-choice position wasn’t only strong in the urban and suburban areas, but higher than expected in conservative areas.
